fashion week

New York Fashion Week is 1/2 way through and the Fall 2010 RTW shows are up!!!

check them out for free at style.com

here are some of my top pics so far:

....some seriously inspiring truly great American sportswear with a twist.

thank you fashion week!

Alexander Wang

Wang really delivers with an amazing show of menswear inspired 'banker chic' mixing tailored silhouettes of cropped blazers + vests and with thick ribbed leg-warmers for a sexy feel.

Shipley & Halmos

Since their first collection for Fall 2008, ex-Trovata members Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos have been updating classics and key separates pieces with a great youthful feel.

Thakoon

Thakoon has always been known for his ultra-fem draped printed dresses, but this season he turns towards a new theme with dark tones, textures and furs: fox, mink and raccoon.

Rag & Bone

The ambitious duo presented their cool, classic separates collection packed with attitude which took inspiration from the "crazy English guys who climbed Mount Everest in the 20's in tweed". Amazingly layered chunky tweeds, marled yarns, and even spins of traditional fairisle patterns.

BRUNCH

wait....one weekend with 2 brunches?
excellent.

here we go -
first, brunch at the Tortilla Press in Collingswood, NJ.
me and Jenny both got the hauvos rancheros. yumm.
a byob, so we brought a nice bottle of champagne and they mixed it with fresh squeezed oj.
they bring some amazing cinnamon sugar encrusted homemade tortillas when you sit down.
sooo good.
its such a cute space right on a corner along the Collingswood's main street.
and they serve a mean sweep potato and portabella mushroom burrito.

second, an amazing brunch at Morning Glory in S. Philly.
such amazing food and defiantly worth the wait....55 minutes in this case.
Robin got eggs over-easy with vegie sausage and rosemary potatoes.
the baked apples were complimentary.
and of course Morning Glory's famous biscuit (how do they make it so good?)

I got the 'breakfast pizza'.
toasted chibatta bread layered with roasted rosemary potato slices, egg, caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and smothered in melty cheese.
um, seriously yummmieee.
